Farm Membership

Salt Air Farm Membership

If you've always wanted your own farm, but wern't sure you wanted all the work associated with one, a membership at SAF may be the perfect compromise.  SAF offers a capped private membership.  This is exactly what you've always dreamed of.  A farm setting in which to wander, picnic, pick-your-own produce, participate in growing, learn in a "hands-on" small outdoor classroom setting, and explore nature.  No lines, No crowds, No checkout counter, NO PUBLIC.  This is your farm.  We cap this program at just 30 memberships per year.  Each membership is for two.  The cost is $5000.  You are welcome to either split a membership with a friend or purchase a full membership for yourself and bring a different friend or family member with you each time you visit your farm.  However you decide to sign up we know that what you reap at Salt Air Farm will be life changing.

Questions and Answers:

Q:  When can I access the farm?
A:  You can come to the farm Monday - Saturday any time during the day (9am and 5pm) throughout the growing season.  A calendar of events is provided to every farm member.   A member designated parking area is available for easy access to farm grounds.

Q:  What can I pick on the farm?
A:  Anything you want.  There is no additional charge.  We just ask that you not pick more than your immediate family can eat fresh.  This is your membership...not that of your friends and community.

Q:  If I want to pick additional produce to preserve myself or to share with a friend can I pay extra to do that?
A:  Sure.

Q:  Can we picnic on the farm?
A:  Absolutely.

Q:  Can I help with the farm work?
A:  Sure, but you don't have to.  If helping out on the farm is fun for you, we'd love your assistance with any and all hand work.  If that doesn't sound fun to you, no worries.  Just come and enjoy.  Hand work includes:  planting, weeding, pruning, trellis set-up, picking, irrigation, dove care, etc.  It does not include the operation of machinery.  Machinery operation can be arranged following a doctor's sign-off, legal sign-off, and graduation from SAF's operator course.

Q:  What kinds of classes do you offer to members?
A:  We offer classes on beekeeping, dove care and training, pruning, plant nutrition, irrigation, floral arranging, trellis growing, environmental issues, and more.  We know you'll have fun and learn lots!

Q:  Is there someway for me to have access to the farm for photo/painting/yoga purposes where no picking is involved?
A:  Yes, an artistic membership is available at $1500.  This membership does not allow for picking, classes, or other full member benefits.  It does, however, give repeated access to the farm for artisitic purposes.  Each membership receives 4 passes that can be used over and over again throughout the season.  This is an excellent opportunity for wedding photographers who have a rotating client base.  Just 3 photo sessions per month more than cover the cost of membership.  Likewise, yoga enthusiats can enjoy our farm with a shared membership under this plan.
